Reconnect with the Earth, and discover your inner creative through natural materials in this meditative, hands-on workshop. Utilizing locally grown and foraged plants, the mother-daughter duo of Kasiopya will guide you through botanically printing your own silk scarf and handkerchief. Your one-of-a-kind pieces will be yours to take home and cherish.

You’ll begin by choosing your botanical materials, learning of each plant's unique properties, how to prepare and arrange them on the silk, and finally, bundle wrapping your item. We will utilize leaves, flowers, and bark grown in Miami, FL, as well as outsourced eucalyptus. Your final products will be one-of-one silk depictions of the colors of Miami and the natural textures of each plant. Wear the Earth

Finished products will be ready for pick-up at the Coconut Grove Farmer's Market by February 22, or may be mailed to the participant for an additional $15 fee. Items may be held for up to 4 weeks from the workshop date.

Materials provided:

• One 12" x 60" silk charmeuse scarf per participant-- retail value: $175 each
• One 12" x16" silk broadcloth handkerchief per participant-- retail value: $45
• All botanical printing materials: plants, cotton chord, vinegar, aluminum foil
• A pair of plastic gloves per participant
