Honor the Summer Solstice with a grounding reconnection to the Earth. Guided by the mother-daughter-duo of Kasiopya, discover your inner creative through nature and silk. Utilizing locally grown and foraged plants, we will guide you through botanically printing your own silk scarf and table square. Your one-of-a-kind pieces will be yours to take home and cherish.

You’ll begin by choosing your botanical materials, learning of each plant's unique properties, how to prepare and arrange them on the silk, and finally, bundle wrapping your item. We will utilize leaves, flowers, and bark grown in Miami, FL, as well as outsourced eucalyptus. The Kasiopya team will then gather your pieces to finalize the printing in our boiling process. Your final products will be one-of-one silk depictions of the colors of Miami and the natural textures of each plant. Wear the Earth.

Choose between:

-Full 2 hour session, decorating a large silk charmeuse scarf and a silk noil tablecloth
-1 hour session, decorating a large silk noil scarf.

Finished products will be ready for pick-up at the Coconut Grove Farmer's Market by July 5, or may be mailed to the participant for an additional $15 fee. Items may be held for up to 4 weeks from the workshop date. 

Materials provided:

• One 12" x 60" silk charmeuse scarf per participant-- retail value: $200 each
• One 12" x16" silk noil table square per participant-- retail value: $45
• OR one 12" x 60" silk noil scarf per particiapnt-- retail value: $125
• All botanical printing materials: plants, cotton chord, vinegar, aluminum foil
• A pair of plastic gloves per participant
